Sustainability I 21/03/2016

Under the XIX National Competition of Project Explore 2014, Xilema participated together with the National Institute of Agronomic Research (INRA) in Chile, in the workshop “Our friends the ladybugs”. This activity was sponsored by the Catholic University of Valparaiso, Chile under the title of “Environmental Preservation as theme for the Assessment of Science in Schools of the V Region”

The activity, which benefited about 260 children from seven vulnerable, schools in the region, allowed students to recognize in a playful way, the importance of natural predators and biological control for environmental preservation.

The students had the opportunity to recognize the ladybugs as natural predators and be responsible for their upbringing, releasing them afterwards in the garden of their respective schools.
